Our biking adventure

Woah was this ever an adventure and a half! We started our bike ride in the early evening. We were going to take a two hour bike ride over to pudding stone lake and back. On our way back Cade was using the gps on his phone to find our way. So little by little it got darker and darker. I was getting more and more worried. So here we are winding our way through the hills of San Dimas. One of our turns led us to this gate. On the gps it showed that this was a through street. So we thought it must just be a gate to the back of a park. What was our solution? Jump the gate of course! This was a unanimous decision. So we lifted our babies and our bikes over the gate with out to much difficulty.

My Mom and Dad helped. Cooper and Carter climbed over themselves.

Horray we all made it!!

After we got everyone hitched back up we rode down the hill. After a little while we discovered we were NOT in a park. There were all these white buildings with strange statues all over the place. Not kidding! One of the statues was of children holding dust pans, brooms, vacuums, and mops. Ok......getting stranger. We took a couple of wrong turns in this place and then finally found the road that led out. As we were riding down this hill, keep in in mind it is now pitch black as you can see from the pictures, we saw all of these banners. They all had these strange quotes on them. Strange religious quotes. At the very bottom of the hill we were stopped by a gate and a GUARD!!!!! A SECURITY GUARD!!!!!!!! Carter and I rode up last and by the time we got there the guard was taking every ones names.
Guard: What are your names?
Cade: Cade McMullin
The guard then took every ones names
Guard: So how did you get in here?
Cade: The gate.
Guard: But the gate is locked.
Cade: Uh-huh.
Guard: How did you get in here then?
Cade: We climbed over.
Guard: (with a shocked look on her face) With bikes?
Cade: Um we lifted them over.
Guard: You do realize that this is GOVERNMENT PROPERTY and that it is all on SURVEILLANCE CAMERA don't you.
Cade: We are sooooo sorry. We thought that we were climbing over into a park. We had no clue this was government property.
We were all crapping our pants at this point. She took all of our names and then we found out that were were on government property at a Buddhist monastery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy Crap!
We apologized a million more times and then she let us pass through. She must have decided that we were not secret operatives of any type and that we meant no harm.
After we were allowed to go we found our selves on a dark path through the freakin' woods!!!! I was so scared. Only I couldn't show it. I had to act like everything was find and dandy because my little kids were just short of freaking out and crying. We were on this dark path for so long that Cooper even had us pull over and say a prayer. Shortly after we said our prayer we popped out on a well lit street. The whole experience was so strange. Who knew there was a government protected Buddhist monastery smack dab in the middle of San Dimas.
We still laugh about our little biking adventure. It was scary and the MOST FUN EVER!
